How to i connect this rod to two end clips, which mate connector need to be used

Hi everyone!
this is my first post. can anybody help me how do i connect this rod to two end clips just connection required no precision. i tried Tangent connector, it worked well for one side but while i try tangent connector it fails.
pls see attached pic. end clips have balls there, just wanted to touch this rod to these balls.
But Not working at right clip, same thress tangent connectors? can anybody pls guide.
