Pattern with expression doesn't regenerate as intended

Hello,
Im build a model for testing 3d printing bridging and wanted to try an expression based model. Everything went fine till I also added a standoff. That standoff should follow the original extrusion. It worked initially but broke when i matched the lines the upper line of the standoff sketch with the one from the extrusion (picture2-4). If i match the side surface of the extruded part of the same sketch it works as intended.
what is going on and how to prevent this in general? Does is refer to the original sketch without the pattering? Why is the other coincident working as intended?
