Hotkey to automatically add equal constraints during sketch geometry creation

Amos_AmblerAmos_Ambler Member Posts: 1 PRO

It would be a huge time saver if there was a hotkey to automatically add the equal constraint to sketch geometry as its created. This would allow you to create multiple line segments or circles in a row without then needing to go back and set them as equal, an operation I find myself doing quite often.

Example line segments to define hole spacing, circles to define part boundaries around existing holes.

I've found myself thinking this would be useful for years, hopefully others agree.

I assume you know that you can select a bunch of things and set them equal in one operation?

@S1mon I'm sure I knew that. I might just have forgotten it. cough

Oh, and if you do select a bunch of things and set them equal (shortcut is 'e' key), the order of selection will determine what constraints are created.

    1. Select A, B, C, D
    2. Hit equal
    3. You get B=A, C=A, D=A

    If you change the order:

    1. Select D, C, B, A
    2. Hit equal
    3. You get C=D, B=D, A=D

Depending on what changes you're likely to do in the future, you may want to be very conscious of this order.
