Can sheet metal create a flanged corner within a sheet?
How would one cut out a flap, from a single surface, using sheet metal?
See picture: this is for those 90 degrees angles flaps that hold a product in place in packaging.

I think this pretty picture may be what you're looking for. Looks good but the Make Joint fails and will not generate a flat pattern. Suppress Make Joint and and you'll see the flat pattern regenerate.

Thank you Bryan. Can this be done without the bottom cut on your drawing?
I could have phrased my question better: can sheet metal bend the design below to a flap, without additional cuts?

Thank you! This solves my issue, it looks simple once it's been shown :)
Not as simple as it looks. If the center section neutral path and the outer section neutral path are EQUAL OS may give a flat pattern result. Not sure if it will or just doesn't like the bend in two directions. Easiest way may be to adjust at least one of the bend radius'. I made a formula for this but my algebra is a bit tired and couldn't resolve for 2 variables.
