Add a second hollow cylinder to my part studio - I can't edit the second copy independently

paul_gaastrapaul_gaastra Member Posts: 2

I've only been working with Onshape for one day.

How do I make another part identical to the first part without starting from scratch? I tried to copy it but when I edit the copy the original changes.

Don't make identical parts in part studio typically. Go to an assembly and insert twice then set position with mates.

If you need to modify the second one then do something like a mirror of the first part and edit the mirrored object

Paul, perhaps your intent may be attained by duplicating (right click mouse button for dialog) the part studio rather than copying the part. - Scotty
