preparing an outline for laser cutting

Hi, I'm working on a 3D model for a balsa model, which i eventually want to export to laser cut.
What I'm struggling with is exporting the outline rather than a face.

A simplified example of what I need to export is here:

https://cad.onshape.com/documents/6645005d43b7f985572a1ce7/w/000a1a3461445c5f57c1119d/e/24ee16cb0ab0a2ab3bea4746?renderMode=0&uiState=66cdf5d4f954380fa128d319

How do I get the outermost outline of this, so the total length of the long edges, and then top edge on the left, and the bottom edge on the right, to get all the material that then will need to be sanded to fit?
If I export a face to use as a cutting template, the final part will be too short…
