How can I move parts of a sketch to another plane, or project it?

I started a new drawing and since I am a beginner I was so into setting the measurements right on my only sketch that I realized that I did not want the circles to be on that sketch but rather on the top of the extruded shape 🫥

This is not a big deal, I can delete and recreate them on the top surface but this made me wonder how I could recover from that mistake:

  • maybe "move" these circles from one sketch to another?
  • or project them on the top plane?→ EDIT: I found the "Use" feature to do exactly this

You can change the plane the sketch exists on, if you want to move the whole sketch. In the little dialogue box that pops upwhen editing the sketch, you can clear the selected plane and select a different one.

Or if you just want part of the sketch, you could copy paste then reconstrain it, or yes, you could project one sketch to another sketch. A bit pointless though and bad practice as you're just increasing the work the cad software has to do and hence bogging it down for no good reason.
