How to best orgainize my model parts & documents
I have completed two of the six locomotives I am commissioned to build, and I am now working on the third.
I am starting to accumulate quite a few documents and indivitual parts.
I would like to be able to maintain access to these documents because there are a lot of common parts from one locomotive to the next that I use.
How best can I best archive the already built parts to maintain good performance but still have access to them as I have need?
I have grouped them with labels to keep them together per project, but it is starting to build up fast.
Appreciate the help.

I'd recommend to put every part that will be reused in a separate document. that way they'll their own version control.
you can create a new document from an existing part studio by right clicking and choosing 'Move to document'.
in your assembly the link can be updated to the new document…
Everything that I consider a "buyout" item (or one that I'm going to use repeatedly), I put into a self made library - then give those libraries names and labels. The labeling makes finding the various libraries (and the parts inside), much easier, (fewer clicks). I think there are possibly unlimited ways to set this up because everyone's needs are different, and would ultimately say, do what you're comfortable with.
Also, give some thought to names given to parts (& libraries) - try to have some kind of system, this will help downstream.
Sorry I don't really have any great revelations here, but just be systematic in your approach - you can always change it later. I would love to hear from others about how they organize items.
