Having trouble setting Guides for a Loft

william_framewilliam_frame Member Posts: 6

I am new to surfacing in OnShape. In the referenced Public drawing, in the "Body Contour V2" Parts Studio I am trying to use 8 Composite Curves as the Guides for the shape of the Loft. A couple of them work, but most of them display a red dot on the middle profile (BeltLine) line. I have done a Pierce on all of them and it still trows the error. What am I doing wrong or missing? Also, what is the swooping curve that is shown in the middle section of the loft?

I also tried using the ribs as the profiles and the Lower Profile, Beltline, and Top Profile as the Guides. Only the Lower Profile works. Nothing works as Pathe.

Any help will be appreciated!

Here I've changed the lofting sequence to eliminate a bulge on the side of cockpit.

You will need to continues working on the for best surface quality,

There are abrupt changes in guide curves. I added added some constraints that seam to take care of the problem. Horizontal and vertical on the spline handles. Also not necessary to use the composite curve for loft guides.

Thanks for the help. I suspected it was something fairly simple. I am not to concerned about the "quality" of the curves. This is just a concept for a cyclekart body my grandson and I are build, so the execution in the real thing is probably going to be a little different.
