Part split

Hello,
Ive tried many ways to split the part highlighted from the main body, It seems like im stuck and I'm not sure what else to try, please help.

Hello. I know of 3 ways (there may be more) to split a part. Mate Connector, Plane, & Surface. Example. - Scotty
As a last resort, make multiple splits until you isolate the geometry you want (like Scotty says, mate connectors might be convenient for this). Then boolean the remaining parts back into one piece (the ones that you didn't want to split, but had to)
Better option might be to take advantage of multi-part part studio- sketch, and subtract the profile, then use that profile to create a new 2nd part.
Sorry if I have misinterpreted your question, and others may have simpler solutions.
You could create a solid that contains the part you want to separate. then use boolean intersect to create the part you want. and set the feature to keep the part and the 'tools'. you will have 3 parts after that…... then boolean subtract the 'container' part from the original part. and then you are left with two parts as desired.
