Imported DXF Not Fully Defined
Hi, I'm a noob and having issues with an imported DXF that is constantly not fully defined it's happened to most of my imports so I'm sure it's me not doing something.
I seem to add as many dimensions as possible to define the part but still cannot get it to define. I have seen that too many dimensions is also a problem.
I'm wondering if its locations of holes that's causing an issue?
Would somebody be so kind to have a quick look for me please and thanks?

it seems you linked a doc in your trash. it won't let me open it. Depending on what your doing you may not need it to be fully defined and are just wasting time worrying about it. On the chance that you really want to understand what's going on so you can address it in the future… let get a proper doc link so we can see what's going on.
Argh sorry I messed about with it yesterday and must have deleted it.
I have added measurements all over the place to try to get it to complete so it does look a mess with dimensions at the minute.
@MDesign thank you yes its more to understand why or what it's looking for to complete.
I'm not sure if you will be able to see the imported dxf to start again if you wish.
Thank you!
Just had the same issue a few days ago. Imported DXF do NEVER come defined. Depending on what it is (mine was a simple word logo) it can be super complex, with types of curves which you'll never be able to fully constrain after the fact.
I've read about an interesting approach in someone elses post two or three days ago, though. It is probably a dirty workaround, but I tried anyway and it did the job: I imported the DXF into some separate document, made sure the sketch was closed but didn't care if it was fully defined and put that in my project folder with no intention of ever editing it. Then, I derived that into my actual design, scaled and wrapped it onto my target face. The fun part here is that a derive will always be fully constrained, because it is derived. ;0)
I have yet to try if I can just swap it, in case the grapic designer comes up with a new version of the logo, but it appears at least possible.
Inside sketcher: select everything by drawing a mouse box around all the lines. Then go to the constraints menu and select "fix". Now all the lines will be black. Delete all the dims you made before doing this.
Side note, if your dxf imports are usually this simple of just a few lines and a circle, it's probably worth redrawing them natively in OS. (assuming you want to be able to modify them in the future)
Thanks guys for taking the time.
