duplicating items on a sketch

steve_ulrich290steve_ulrich290 Member Posts: 12

I recently used a feature from another user that had lattice created for a deck or fence.

I found they duplicated the slats in a manner that I cannot figure out how they did it… Can someone tell me how they did this

see screeen shot below.. they used a way to duplicate the lattice pieces using a call out with a "14x"

    sketch pattern…
However, it's better to make one part and use a feature pattern to create the lattice bits… (better performance and more flexible…)

Eric thanks, I feel silly as I could not figure out how to get the sketch pattern to work until I played a bit and looked at some videos.

To clarify though, I googled feature pattern as you suggested… I could not find anything.

Do you mean to create a sketch, then extrude and then create the pattern. Or take the extrude and insert into an assembly and then create the pattern which is typically how I creat multiple parts?

You could either do it in the assembly if that's an option for you, or pattern the extrude, patterning the body itself is the best option but you can also pattern a set of features.

Here's a video on "advanced" patterning in case you are wondering what the pattern feature can do…
