Extrude thin not available in older document

robert_scott_jr_robert_scott_jr_ Member Posts: 482 ✭✭✭

Hello All. I opened a document from 7/3/2022 and created a new sketch on an existing surface and upon opening an Extrude feature found no Extrude Thin option. Reloading page didn't help. Tried it in a new document and there the Thin option is available. A bug? - Scotty

Try deleting the document then recovering it from the bin. This forces an update on the document to the latest version of on-shape.

It'd be good if there was a button to just force the update though OnShape UX team - wink wink nudge nudge.

Try sending to trash then recover. That's what i did with this copy and was asked did want to update, I said now for the update and now thin extrude is included. Must not have opened this one for a while.

I like Oliver's idea of and way to force update now.

Can someone explain this 'trash and restore' to a newbie?

Is it the Parts tab or the whole document?

How-to step-by-step would be much appreciated.

The whole document will be trashed.

On your Documents page, to the right you see a trash can icon appear when you hover over the document line. Just do that, trash it. On the left of the documents page, below Create you should see a trash can. Clicking on that will bring up a list of trashed documents. Right click on the document line and the option to restore will pop up. I believe you have 30 days to be able to restore a document. - Scotty
