Can't hide mate connectors

mate connectors from subassembly showing up in master assembly.

right click > hide all mate connectors > still there > F5 refresh > still there > check assembly list, mate is hidden > still visible on screen.

@josh_targo - Try digging a little deeper in the feature tree, and find the part in the assembly, (or sub-assembly) where the custom mate was created - expand the carrot to find the custom mate, then change the visibility to off. I'm not certain if you've tried this or not, but this is how I deal with this issue. Hope this makes sense.

The normal behavior seems to be - if you make a custom mate connector in a part, but don't use it while mating the part in the assembly it defaults to visible, but will auto-hide if this mate connector is used for mating the part in the assembly. I'm not 100% sure this is how it works, but I think so. Others can correct me, if I'm wrong.

Another thought occurred to me, have you tried to toggle the"k" key shortcut. Should be the same as "hide all mate connectors" - but hey, worth a shot.

There is a screenshot showing the mate connector hidden in the tree, but still visible on screen.

I've had similar ghost rendering issue - not mate connectors but edges of faces that continued to render even in a new blank document. Advice from support was to hit Ctrl+D to bring up diagnostics panel and clear the local display cache.

@josh_targo - I see the "mate connector 1" is ghosted, but there are still items in the list, that can still be expanded. If Oliver's suggestion didn't work, try expanding "all" the other items in the owner part, and see if you can find a mate connector that isn't hidden. I have had assemblies, that have done exactly what you're describing - and it was a buried custom mate connector, they will show up at the very bottom of the carrot hierarchy. They were a pain to find, but they were there (maybe that mate connector was replicated with pattern instances, and you need to find them all - just guessing about this). If you have expanded every single item in the owner part, and still can't find that visible connector, it might be time to get Onshape involved. Happy hunting.

the mate connector shown as hidden was the one on the screen. I unhid it and then re-hid it and the mate connector shown in the assembly finally went away, but hide all mate connectors did not work.

Glad to hear you got that resolved - Hide all mate connectors didn't work in my assembly either, had to hide them individually. Now I'm wondering if that is normal behavior - or should there be an improvement request.

I definitely have issues with hiding mate connectors created by the MultiMateConnector feature. Also mate connectors that come in via a derive. It seems like these are treated differently. Not sure if this is a bug or a feature.

that's a bug from my point of view. hide all means hide all
