Trying a loft, no success

It looks so easy in that video in the help section. I have a circle in the first plane, ans an ellipse in the second plane a certain distance away. But a loft between these two curves always fails. I'm lost, didn't think that still happens after umpteen years with Onshape.

what’s the error message you are getting?
Try some tutorials before complaning. from a circle to a elips you need 4 guiding lines.
When your smart and you do half a circle and half a elips you need 2 guidelines
