Easier or smarter way to create multiple versions /templates?
Hi all, I'll provide some short context to help aid in answering my question:
I model simple 'test-fixtures' that variably accommodate a specific wire connector for my job. They remain identical, except the width of a test-fixture model depends on the width of the connector. I'm trying to standardize my team's modeling approach to therefore simplify the external hardware used in physical assembling.
Is there an easier way to accomplish this other than below: Currently I am making different versions (standardized widths) of a template model; my thought process is that you would make a copy of the version that works for your assigned connector, then continue modeling as necessary.
It seems like there would be a more professional way to achieve this than what I'm currently doing. It looks somewhat un-organized, and amateur.
*Note: I'm just an undergraduate intern, but I'm trying to prove my worth to this company that's moderately new to 3D modeling.
Thank you for any input. :)
