Joining of parts

I have an element made of two parts. When I print it, it falls apart, it doesn't stick together. How can I draw it so that it sticks together so that it's just one part.

The quick way would be to modify Extrude 2, so you have one part rather than two:

You could also use surfaces to make everything nice and clean:

The first extrude is done with a draft angle that creates a none manifold condition when the second extrude is set as add.
In other words the parts do not overlap or at least come face to face. There is probably a better way but for the sake of expediency I drew some extra curves in sketch one so that selections for second extrude overlap part 2.
