Mesh on a rounded object

radek_hajskyradek_hajsky Member Posts: 4

I have a circle in a sketch and I need to fill the circle vertically. One half is extruded, the other half I want to fill with extruded mesh. I will have it for a temperature sensor and I need it to be ventilated. How do I create this mesh?
Thank you very much for your help.

Not sure if you want to 'fill' an area with a mesh or make a part be a mesh of sorts. If this is to be 3D printed, your slicer may be able to print the parts as a 'mesh". Otherwise, you can create a mesh (see how) and then use Boolean Remove on the part and discard any unwanted parts created.

I suspect perhaps your intent is to make a meshed part to slide into that slot. In that case you can create a sketch on the surface of the part you already have and use the Use tool to capture the elements you need for the part to be inserted or use the elements of your existing sketches to do the same and then Extrude to create the part. Then use the Boolean Remove method as previously described. - Scotty

I'm not 100% sure what you're after but does this help?

Unfortunately, it doesn't work over this grid.

I guess I'm still not sure what your goal is. Maybe you can mark up a screenshot to help me get it?
