Add bulge to irregular surface

cheesy_potatocheesy_potato Member Posts: 2

Hi

I wanted to add an offset bulge to a surface that formed by a projected curve. Here is the link to my test

https://cad.onshape.com/documents/8a3ab528ab5df926047d5135/w/d98b2ebae5dedb865cffc937/e/16aa4f3c3daa531310cf332c?renderMode=0&uiState=674e195b1f0ad069859f279f

Here is the sorta shape i want to add that adds to the existing shape and merges into it. Cant for the life of me figure it out.

Anyone that could show me how you would do it?

the red line is a little simple. do you want the whole section to bulge outward there?
in that case, try the new 'edit curve' feature on the projected curve before the sweep. you could move a node and be done with it.

if you really want to keep the inside of the shape as it is and just add material there, split the shape at the attachment of the red line, sketch a guide curve and try lofting it.
It's hard to help you any further unless you can specify more clearly what you're looking to build.

If I follow your goal, it's something like this. I split it (as you already were), then added a guide curve on the right plane and lofted a new surface.
