I'd like to know about CAM interface and instant tech support. You can call me too. I'm already having trouble with your tech support. IDK if my first question sent so I'm trying again

tech support is awesome because they can support you in the context of the document you'r working on. usually the response is fairly quick and they can always tell whether it's a bug, or they'll help you how to model something better.

Onshapes built in CAM is still in Beta and not publicly available yet. it's been a long time coming to.

have worked in NX before and never want to go back. Solidworks would also feel like a big step back. as an educator especially, the cloud native nature of onshape will help you out a lot because you can comment and look along in their live files from your own laptop…

    Hi Jay,

I was a teacher using SW for about 10 years before switching to Onshape and, in all honesty, it was one of the best decisions I ever made. From an educator perspective, probably the best part was not having to maintain a lab of expensive computers and keeping up with licenses. Onshape is free for students and teachers, runs on any device, and requires no downloads or installs or licenses. I decided to make the switch at 9 AM and and 9:05 AM, my kids were CAD'ing. And collaboration is amazing. It's basically Google Docs. A dozen (or as many as you want) students can collaborate on one document and you never have to worry about who has what version of what file on what computer. They can all be in the document at the same time, making comments, creating versions, etc. After a week or so of getting up to speed, my students told me they never wanted to go back. Also, as an educator, I could rest assured that I was preparing my students for college or the workforce. Professional engineers and companies such as Trek, Garmin, Garrett Motion, and Sonos use Onshape to design their products.

I am curious what issues you've had with tech support. I have found the Onshape tech support to be super responsive and helpful.

    Matt

P.S. As stated above, CAM is coming soon.

Thanks! That is very helpful. The issue is probably the fact that I'm an old curmudgeon. I really love the fact that I can get SW support immediately on the phone from someone with a pulse.
