Hallo
wrt to my "hbinb_lampenplank"
How to assembly constrain a square bar (45x45mm) in a square hole (50x50mm), centered in both directions
I did create the parts in my part studio, and try to assemble them in my assembly part
Thanks in advance

Hi @hans_bollen, place a mate connector at the center of both of your parts in their part studios. Ensure each mate connector has the expected part selected as it's owner body. Then when in the assembly, use the Fastened mate to join the two mate connectors together.
Also, sounds like you would benefit from the Learning Pathways. It's an awesome way to become efficient at Onshape.

Ha Michael, thanks for your great responce. I did use Siemens NX for many years. Which works a bit different … Therefor I already did spend a lot of time in de Onshape learning documentation, learning the part studio concept and the assembly concept with the mate connectors.
I will try your proposal. Now know where to "gamble around" >;-)

Ha Michael, I did watch a lot of training material last months. Still learning, I know !
Adding mate connector in part studio ? In the assembly ! My plate part has a square hole there (at 45 degrees) where I do need the mate connector, to catch the square bar in the middle of the square holes. I will try again soon again.

If you have a square bar going into a square hole you don't need anything else to mate these. By default they will mate center to center with a fastened mate.
The only "trick" you might need to know is how to use the "shift" key to allow you to actually select the mate connector at the center of the square hole.
