Linked Document Copying Parts from Assembly
Working with students on design teams sometimes they do not use the best practices for making parts and assemblies. I have run into a situation where a previous year design team linked a bunch of assemblies from other documents into their team document to create their main assembly. Unfortunately, none of the original link documents are available - Get an error when trying to open linked document that states "Document failed to load for version. Resource does not exist, or you do not have permission to access it." What I would like to do is copy parts from an assembly and put them in a part studio to made edits to. Wondering if anyone has had this similar issue and know of a way to duplicate the parts without having to remake them all.

You can do this via Assembly context:
In the new part studio use Transform feature to create copies of the parts
Back in assembly use Replace instances to change references to these copies .
Spot On! This worked great! Thank you!
