Help needed - Can't seem to do what I want to....

I am trying to draw a cyliner with holes cut through it - imagine a cylndrical lamp shade or a muzzle break or something like that.
I have drawn a cylinder, shelled it out, added a plane, drawn on the shapes that I want and then managed to get it to wrap around the cylinder - can only seen to add material and not take it away.
I am new to onshape, so any help would be appreciated.

thanks Simon

Have you tried the move face tool?
You should be able to just set the wrap to remove material instead of add it.
