Set origin point

ed_henseled_hensel Member Posts: 8

I have used 2 artificial intelligence platforms read through the forums, but I can't seems to figure out how to set the origin point. How do I move the origin? I imported a dxf and I need to move the origin to a corner. Can anyone help here?

The idea of an origin is to be fix. Move the imported data to the origin instead.

I am fine with that. How do I move the sketch to the origin?

That's a bit tricky: Sketches, once they exist, are linked to a reference object (such as a plane, a planar face, or a mate connector). All entities within the sketch can be moved within the sketch plane, though, ideally by constraining them internally and then to an external reference. If you place the sketch on the oirigin, that reference could then be the origin itself. You could also create the sketch on a mate connector, which you could then move around at will, with the sketch following it.

edit the sketch select all the entities and use the transform tool. move it wherever. as martin said… it could get tricky if you got constraints set to anything outside the sketch. but based on your feature tree it looks like it should be fairly straight forward.
