Having an issue with bend relief on sheet metal model

jon_gaulljon_gaull Member Posts: 4

Hi OnShape and community. I am working on a model using the sheet metal feature. I'm seeing an issue with bend relief that is preventing me from making a manufacturable part. I recorded a quick video explaining the issue here:

https://www.loom.com/share/833dcd735d984979a9104a5be02571cd?sid=acc12622-45fa-4b18-a502-a4eec18a9c4b

tl;dw

My bend relief is perfect if I simultaneously create flanges on all three faces, but when I create two flanges in one operation and then a third flange with another my bend relief is incorrect. Since I want a different bend angle for one of the flanges this is a problem for me.

Thanks for the help!

Not sure I fully understand the issue but one option would be to make the three flanges at once and use a move face feature (with the rotate option) to change the angle.

Thank you! That's an interesting idea. I will give that a try.

Or you could use Make joint https://cad.onshape.com/documents/9c54c9de8f45dcf73360d6d2/w/71dae7211cd8eb7000b73c5d/e/4434e618da35a537cc089de6
