Rotating links. Help required

ricardo_raimondoricardo_raimondo Member Posts: 51 ✭✭

I am doing something wrong in this project, which is to mimic the way bus and passenger doors in an aeroplane work.

When I start to set up the rotation points using the Revolute Mate toll, at a given point, all previous mating features go red. Here it follows the initial position and end position I am trying to achieve, and here is the link to the workspace:

I will appreciate any help I can get. I tried to be sure the lengths of the links and distances between rotating points match, but I would not be surprised if some rotating point is not where it should be.

Five of your parts are fixed. That might be the issue.

Probably I intentionally fixed them to put other parts in position, but only there are two fixed parts. I did some simplifications and review of the use of linkages and it seems that the problem I had was that the three rotation points must be aligned to have the linkage working. Not sure about this but making that change the assembly works. I'll need to check with a ME to confirm.
