Laggy Rendering of Parts in Assembly - How to Solve?

caden_kim517caden_kim517 Member Posts: 4

I have noticed that my top-level assembly has recently begun to render in odd ways when viewing it, especially when orbiting or zooming in and out, as you can see in the screenshot I included, None of my other assemblies or part studios behave this way (though they are smaller). Parts also appear to black out in some cases, and in others only the wireframe renders, This problem began a couple days ago, though nothing has changed other than the addition of a few features in the doc. It seems to have gotten worse and I can hardly use the assembly without waiting up to around 20 seconds for everything to stabilize and render properly again.

I am on a 2020 Macbook Air on Apple Silicon (M1) running Chrome Version 131.0.6778.205.

The only thing that I've done right prior to this problem occurring was restarting my computer and relaunching chrome several times while trying to connect to a captive portal, though I don't see how that could have affected anything. I've made sure that hardware acceleration is on for chrome.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I see in your bottom left a warning for "Poor connection"- that might contribute to it.

Otherwise check the performance tab on the left hand side, either for the assembly or the part:

Thank you for the response! The problem seems to have fixed itself overnight and the assembly runs fairly smoothly now.

But just to get to the bottom of the issue I wanted to provide more context.

I did notice the poor connection warning but I have had that frequently without this type of issue occurring. Also, the others working with me on this document have not had this issue on the same wifi and same hardware.
