How do I get the extrude remove to intersect with the surface?

I'm trying to extrude the sketch profile of sketch 13 through the surface but I can't get it to intersect. If there's any other way pls tell me

    You cannot remove a solid from a surface. Split the surface with Sketch 13 and then delete the unwanted surface(s).

    Use Extrude New and then do a separate boolean remove from the surface.

    Make your solid extrude part first, then Boolean subtract it from the surface part.
