Offset part axis to face
Im trying to do a relatively simple (or so i thought) mate from an axis of a cyclindrical rolling part to a runner. I'm going mad trying to get this to mate correctly, as there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to get an axis offset from a face. I have also tried the tangent tool but it's not giving me what I'm after. Does anyone know what I should be using? I am planning to use either pin slot or rack and pinion mates after I have the basic mates defined

If you share your document, that would help the investigation. But, if I understand your goal, I think a slider mate with some offsets will get you there.
Hey @findlay_fuller,
Try one of the edges and a circular face for your tangent mate. If you share the document would be easier to look for a solution. Thanks
Hi both,
thanks for helping out, this is my first time using the forum so im not totally sure whether the link works, but give this a go:

I would suggest you do the training in the learning center.
In the vast majority of cases you should only need a single mate between two parts, i.e. the planar mate is rarely used and all you between the two rail pieces is a single fasten mate instead of 3 planar (it will be much easier to troubleshoot down the road)
