Onshape CAM - Stepcraft m1000

in General
Hey!
I really want to use the Onshape CAM studio to generate my toolpath, but my 3 axis stepcraft m1000 doesn't seem to be an option.
There are several "generic options" but stepcraft isn't on there ether.
Do I have any options?

Anyone?
Are there really no solutions for generic stepcraft machines?
I've just been fooling around with it and have not machined anything yet on my hobby desktop machine, so don't take this as completely correct…
Stepcraft uses UCCNC control. That should be compatible with the Mach4 generic listed in the machines. The simulation will show a VMC instead of of a router gantry type machine like yours, but other than that I "think" it will work fine.
For a gantry type machine, the Shopbot option looks similar to the Stepcraft.
I just used Fanuc generic and read the g-code in a text editor. Everything looks good. I also run UCCNC on my hobby Taig mill.
Watch out for G28 at the end! If you are a hobbyist and don’t have your machine properly set up, it will most likely result in a crash.
@Ryan_Walker , we've worked hard to provide a good number of post processors and machine options for this Beta release. Please feel free to submit a support ticket with your machine request information and we can add it to our list of requested machines.
What is the intended method to create postprocessing for those who have machines not commonly used in the US? We do, for example have a 2,50x150m Harmuth machine we might want to try. Will there be a configuration tool or the like?
In the CAM webinair today, I noticed that Tormach PathPilot machines are supported. Does CAM Studio include machine definitions for each of the mills and 4th axis options that Tormach sells? If not can a user create those definitions using the CAD files (IGES and STEP, I think) that Tormach supplies?
Is there a facility for a user to create a new or revise an existing post?
Will there be any support for probing routines, either on the workpiece or with a tool setter?
Sorry I didn't mean to seem rude! Thanks for you hard work :) !
Seems like right now UCCNC stuff works awesome for my machine.
@michael3424 CAM Studio will support multi-axis 4, 3+2 and 5 but will be available with cam studio advanced. Cam studio comes with a set of 2.5 and 3 axis toolpath operations today. Probing, will also be available in the future.
Editing or creating a custom a post/machine is not yet supported but will be in the future. Please submit improvement requests for this functionality so we can prioritize. Thanks!
I just asked this elsewhere, but can a free plan user (contemplating an upgrade to the Pro version) submit an improvement request? Or maybe that should be done through the regular IR section here…
No, only bug reports on the free plan through cad.onshape.com. Improvement requests on the free plan would be through the forum only. Support is excellent on the paid plan. Support helps fix about any issues within a day.
@nick_papageorge_dayjob - thanks.
