Then extrude separately and move the bodies so they overlap, "transform by mate connector" might be a good option to control things precisely.

Short answer: no (and I'm not aware of any parametric CAD that would do that)!
There are likely a number of workflows that can achieve what you need but can you tell us what you are trying to do and/or share a document?
When you extrude the text. The individual letters will be separate parts. You can the. Use the transform tool on each letter.

I try to do something similar to "create an exploded view for drawings" in Autodesk. I want to move the letters together to get one piece.
