insert named view

don_howedon_howe Member Posts: 133 ✭✭✭

I created a named view following the instructions given in this video https://www.onshape.com/en/resource-center/tech-tips/tech-tip-using-named-views the named view is "Cross Section", I even created another view and called it "Custom"

However, when I go to my drawing, the named views are not present in the drop down dialog box.

What else to I need to do?

Sounds like you're doing it right. Maybe share your document here so someone can take a look.

We don't support named sections yet inserted as drawing views, but hold on for a bit longer….

Can I have by Monday 2-24-25? Any work arounds? Like taking a section view and projecting an Isometric View on the drawing?

@don_howe you can make a configuration of the part where it's cut as you want in the part studio, then insert the view you want for that configuration. Add region hatches as needed in the drawing view to show the cut portions.
