Hi team
does any one cnc with a generic 3018 router?

I acquired a CNC about 6 months ago. I use Vectric software (Vcarve) for design, sort of. I rather use it as a tool to get something I've designed in Onshape into Gcode. The process I use is to create two drawings of the part; one with all the necessary views dimensioned and one with a single view (no dimensions) as if looking down upon it as it sits on the CNC bed. I make that view at a scale as large as it will fit on the drawing 'paper'. I also customize the drawing template to exclude the border and title block thus excluding any irrelevant vectors. I then export that drawing as an SVG. Vcarve allows for the import of the SVG and also for the scaling of the vectors to the appropriate size. From there It's a matter of selecting the vectors as needed for machine paths while using the dimensions of the drawing with all the necessary views for depths. Vcarve also allows for the import of a 3D model. I used that feature once and found that it is machine with raster tool paths as if it were a sculpture. - Scotty
By using a custom sheet size the subsequent scaling of output is eliminated with 1:1 view.
