Frame assembly drawing aren't able to access cut list of the composite parts making up the assembly.

I am building a Trailer Frame but am having trouble accessing cut lists of the composite parts that I have created in my drawings. I was hoping to create step by step assembly drawings with the use of an assembly that is made up of composite parts that define each new step in the assembly. Even though my assembly is made up of composite parts, the drawings wont let me access the cut lists of those composite parts. It seems that the only way to access the cut lists is to create a drawing of each individual composite parts directly from the part studio. I dont want to create a drawing of each isolated composite part. I want to show the cumulative progress for each step and only show the cut list for the added parts in that step. Is there a way to access the cut lists in a drawing created from an assembly instead of the part studio?

Please see the file link and additional explanation of the relevant information below.

"Main Frame" Part studio is where I created the frame and defined the composite parts that I would like to use to create my assembly steps.

"Main Frame Assembly" Assembly is where I assembled the composite parts and defined the display states that I would like to reference in the drawings to show the step by step assembly process.

"Drawing Test 01" Drawing is where I crated the drawings that show the step by step assembly. This is where I would like to be able to access the cut lists of each of the composite parts that the assembly is made up of. When I select the composite part table from the toolbar it says that composite parts are required to insert cut list table even though the assembly is made up of composite parts.

"Drawing Test 02" Drawing is my current workaround for the results that I am after. For every assembly step I have created an additional drawing showing the isolated composite part with the cut list. I just dont think that I should have to isolate the composite part just to access the cut list information. I would much rather show it right on the assembly drawing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rylan

    Hi Glen,

I've shared a link part way into my first post. As far as I can tell it is a public document. Let me know if there are any issues with the link.

Sry missed it . Here is a sample showing how to display cut list. Got a number of problems sorted but ran into problems trying to get call outs to show by sheet 3 of the drawing. Maybe some one can help us both through the next step to make this work.

There a number of problems with the original construction. Trimming of components is normally done with the frame tool for the most part by using the "limit frame ends" check box. Looks like you made the composite parts manually instead of using the frame tool to generate. They are not the same. Frame Tool composites. This tool adds the rest of the the data need to build the cut list for drawings. There are times when a manual trim move face or split part is wanted(see the area around the sloped roof bit.

There were some other items like frame around wheel well. I did this with one operation with miters instead of 3 individual frames that need manual trimming.

I recommend looking up the frame tool lessens so you can get up to speed quicker. https://learn.onshape.com/catalog?labels=%5B%22Learning%20Format%22%5D&query=frame%20tool&values=%5B%22Course%22%5D
