Using spreadsheet values in document

I'm trying to design a CNC'd tray/drawer for a storage/organization of drill bits. In a spreadsheet I've created dimensions of width length and depth of 'voids' (pockets) for the bits to rest in. I thought I'd be able to paste the values into a variable table, but I get an error message relating to the size of the table being insufficient. I followed Micael Pascoe's instructions posted on this forum but to no avail. Additionally, the table format doesn't result in desired columns of X,Y &Z values I'm looking for. I thought that perhaps this should be a configuration rather than a table, but I had no success there either. Looking for some help as to the proper method to use. Thanks.
