Why are .dxf import sketch points broken?

christopher_moonchristopher_moon Member Posts: 5

Large amount of 2D drawing that I need to import into OS and sketch tooling for. Files are drawn in Lightburn laser software. The sketch points are not constrained where they meet. I drew a simple square in OS and exported as .dfx. I imported back into OS and the OS .dxf sketch points are also broken. There are hundreds on some drawings so selecting both points and constraining each union isn't going to work.

Am i importing/exporting something wrong?

I noticed that I can import my .dxf on Sketch 1 then open Sketch 2 and use USE to make an unbroken copy which would work but it is linked to Sketch 1 and I cannot make adjustments to it as its constrained by USE.

I tried importing an SVG but once in the parts studio (sketch/import img.) the .svg isnt showing up as an option. I though I might at least use it to trace over a new sketch then delete the .svg.

Is there a best practice so I can import constrained .dfx to the origin and work it into something 3D. Maybe there is a specific version of .dfx or a way to auto trace the .dfx then delete it?
