Render Studio Plywood?

Has anyone attempted a plywood texture with render studio?

Specifically going for a maple veneered plywood with a semi clear coat.

It was a bit of a pain, but it looks mostly like veneered plywood now.

Currently you have to use two materials. One for the front and back faces then another for the end grain faces.

One nice trick is assigning the end grain material to the entire part, then assigning the face material to the flat faces. This way you don't have to go select all the end grain faces if there are complex cuts or fillets.

How to get the plywood look:

1. Import the end grain image into the document and version the document.
2. Assign the maple material to the entire part.
3. Right click the maple material in the appearance tree, and duplicate it.
4. In the assigned material, right click the stain color → Use bitmap file… And select the end grain image.
5. For the duplicate material, assign it to the faces of the plywood.

Logical followup question to the above, has anyone attempted plywood end-grain? I have catalog parts that are made from plywood and we don't edge band them.
