Animating assemblies by dragging with the mouse

robert_nusserrobert_nusser Member Posts: 5

Hi,

I have attempted to make a hinge of sorts and wanted to animated it to understand if it will work. I seem to get different results when trying to drag or move one part such that the assembly will react as it might in real life.

However after changing things a bit and trying it again it behaves differently:

So I wanted to ask if anyone know why, and what is the proper way to animate objects with the mouse.

Also, can one lock one of the object so only the other will move and not both?

I do love this program I must say. I can not imagine there is any easier way to animate a mechanical structure so fast!

Thanks,
Robert

You need to fix/anchor one part (from the RMB context menu of the item in the tree). Else, things will move erratically. Also, consider applying min/max limits, so things don't go too far out of specs in any one direction.
