Splitting a drawing and importing to drawing studio

Hi,
The right part of this project, the monitor base, is not symmetrical, so I want to split it in the middle to be able to mirror one half, but I can't. If I draw a vertical line through the middle it doesn't split the drawing into 2 halves..
An additional question: I always choose the default A4 sheet in drawing studio, but the drawing is much larger as I have to import the parts 1:1 (I have to export the drawing as dxf in order to create a gcode to mill the project and therefore I need the original size). Which template should I choose?
However, my experience shows me that this doesn't really matter: I have already milled several projects this way.
Kind regards
Proape

When you create the drawing do not include the border and title block. Sheet size will be changed later as needed.
RMB on open sheet area to set sheet properties. Set sheet size to format larger than part. No need to split the sheet and paste it back together. If all you need is dxf then the 1;1 drawing can be exported. Leaving out border and title block means no clean up of dfx. If I need a full size paper print to build over I send out to local print house that uses roll feed printers. Roll paper is at least 42" wide. may be wider.
You need a plane (or mate connector) to split a part. Use the Right plane, its already there.
However, your shape is bad. You need to redraw it so that the arcs will be normal to the mirror plane. That is why it comes to a sharp line where the arrows are.
Suggest you make your main shape like the letter "D". Draw that vertical line, coincident with the Right Plane, and make sure any curves that touch it are normal to it. If you do this, the mirror will look good.
Many thanks for your help!
It's actually quite easy to choose the right template for the Darling Studio as well as to split a body - if you know how ;)
I know that my tracing is bad because of the contours of the monitor stand, but it's good enough for my purpose.
If my drawing of the stand is good enough to be extracted and the resulting body can be split, why can't I just split and mirror the drawing? Why doesn't my vertical line divide it into 2 parts?
You need something that goes "through" the entire part to split it. The 1 dimensional sketch line does not, it only touches the bottom surface. A plane and mate connector does (it goes on for infinity in all directions). Re-try using Right Plane and it will work. That's what's in my screenshot.
I have trouble understanding that.
If I draw some geometric figure and draw a line through the middle, or wherever, from one end to the other, then it separates the figure in two parts! Why is this not the case with my drawing of the monitor stand?
The screenshot is missing.
