Why can't I extrude this surface?

Hi,
Although this surface is closed I can't extrude it.
I assume that it has something to do with the fact that the side lines come from another sketch from which I imported them into the current sketch using Use.
But it should be correct, otherwise the surface would not be closed!

P.S.: by magnifying the drawing I have found and eliminated the problem and I now may extrude.

I'm not sure what term would be for why the extrude wouldn't work. what I did find was a confusing abundance of overlapping and close to overlapping sketch entities. If you go back into sketch editing and right click on a sketch entity, select 'Select other' as the option you'll see all the entities available. At some entities it can be understood that there may be some 'confusion' as to what exactly is to be extruded. I deleted the unnecessary elements and from there repaired the remainder and it did extrude. - Scotty

When I zoomed in a lot I noticed that there was a lot of clutter in the lines.
I deleted a superfluous line and it worked.
But what I don't understand is that if a surface is closed, which you can tell by the fact that it is colored, then everything should be clear and it should be possible to extract it.
Yes, when I first looked at it, I thought: 'that oughta work'. Perhaps with all those conflicting lines it also added 'conflicting surfaces'? Dunno. Perhaps one of the gurus will chime in. - Scotty
