How to extrude from a PNG shape converted from SVG?

jeff_pengjeff_peng Member Posts: 3

So basically I'm trying to engrave(or is it imprinting?) an Material design icon to a button. The shape is provided in this Github repo (https://github.com/marella/material-design-icons/tree/main) as SVG files. Since I cannot upload them directly to OnShape, they are converted to transparent background PNG and uploaded as shown below. However, this cannot be used as sketch regions in the extrude tool.

The "home" shape icon might be easy to re-create as a OnShape sketch, but there are many many other Icons that cannot be easily replicated. May I ask what' the best way to extrude from a SVG shape?

Thanks!

Use inkscape or some other means of converting svg to dxf. that's a vector file that can be read by onshape and extruded.
