Onshape needs a better way to demonstrate and teach

My teacher uses Following mode to demonstrate core concepts, but I'm unable to follow along because not all the same things are shown. If my teacher makes a sketch or use a new tool we are unable to see it until it completes, also it does not show previews for the tools. I would like to see the Following feature show those items or a different mode that demonstrates those options.

Follow mode is weird. It's not really as useful as a regular screen share (e.g. Zoom). I'm sure there are some good reasons why the things you can see are limited the way they are, but those reasons are not at all clear to me.

The only advantages to follow mode that I've noticed:

    • I can have a really big monitor in full resolution whereas Zoom or other video conferencing applications tend to limit the resolution
    • You can just click on the other person's avatar to see what they're seeing

Seconded. I usually would do a video call and screen share for this reason, but it is still handy sometimes for quick things.
