    It probably just maxes out the computer's performance. When the load goes round the corner, it needs to do more math and slows down. I know of no way to actively control the speed in a way that makes it uniform.

    The variation in speed comes from the fact your are moving at a steady angular velocity which results in variable "linear" speed as you go around the corners.

    Any reason your "track" (part3) can't be a circle, I think that would help…?

    Right! That doesn't help…
    I guess you would probably have to use a "cam" shape to convert the steady angular velocity animation to a varying radial velocity and convert that back into a varying angular velocity (using rack-pinion) relations. I do wonder if the "track" shape can be used directly for that but I have a hard time wrapping my head around it without trying it out…
