Molds and Tools Management

Does anyone use any specific software/app/other solution to manage the existing molds and tools?
Per example, a mold management solution that could provide information on production date, approval date, state, maintenance…
Would it be a best practice to create specific properties on Onshape for the molds, and through API create a PowerBI dashboard? Or would you do that completely external to Onshape? Maybe also use oneIPM?
It would be an added bonus to generate warnings to specific persons when state changes and maintenante data changes.

neither of these data you suggested, actually requires much CAD data (production date, approval date, state, maintenance).
Would make more sense to use an external solution and only pull from onshape what you'll need. (perhaps mass, size, revision/version)
sounds like a project management tool would be more suitable.
