Orientation Errors exporting a Step file

Hey folks, I need to do a rendered animation of an assembly - sadly something Onshape doesn't (yet) seem to support. Let me know if I'm wrong here.
I'm thinking of using Blender but struggling to get my parts in cleanly. When I export the assembly as a STEP file several of the components are coming in out of position.
For example - in the attached image the "valve" and "tube" have moved from their assembly position to something near the origin. These were modeled in different part studios and assembled into the assembly so what seems to be happening is that Onshape is exporting geometry relative to it's orientation in it's native part studio instead of it's orientation in the assembly.
This seems like a pretty fatal glitch. Is there a fix?

Just out of curiosity, have you tried export it in other formats?
