How would I add features to a loft?

I want to add a rectangular strip 1-2m long around the centre of my wing, the problem I am having is that I can't sketch on the surface of the wing as it is a loft from one air foil to another. Any ideas on how I could do so.

Draw a profile of the cut out above the part then use the split tool for a cut out.
