Cutlist only has item number and qty

Please share a link to your document. It sounds like you are trying to use the assembly BOM table instead of the cutlist feature and the cutlist table that is within the part studio.
If you do want to use the assembly BOM, you can use the Cut list+ feature which lets you name the parts based on their profile, length, and cut measurements, etc..
