Sheet Metal Bends Removing Material

I have this area of this lever that I have a bend on, however, onshape removes too much material around the bend area. The "solution" I have for now is to make the sheet metal thickness thinner with a very small bend radius. It'll be good enough to get the order in with sendcutsend but it isn't ideal. I tried sketching on the flat pattern and adding with an extrude. That didn't work since they're not co-planar.
