How to wrap a loft around a cylinder

So I'm trying to wrap this triangular figure around a cylinder but it will only wrap the bottom portion and not the top of the triangle.

Onshape doesn't currently support part wrap / flex / bend, only surface and sketch wrapping.

However, you can use the Thicken tool to thicken your wrapped 2d surface into a 3d part, then preform another loft to a point, in order to get the shape in your image.

If you need more specific help for your model, please share a link with copy access to your document.

I can't wait till we do get bendy flexy features though!

@EvanReese Flexy + Custom features will be some neat stuff.

I put a decent chunk of work into a flex feature but have run up against a bit of a wall with the base level functions available in featurescript at the moment. I stepped away from it to wait for new transform types or a new surface approximation routine that works closer to the approximate curve function. Then I ran into this SIGGRAPH whitepaper that made me reevaluate the approach, which probably still requires some low level @ functions to be implemented before it's viable.

Parasolid has functions for warping/flexing whatever-you-call-it. Onshape needs to turn them into features.

It'll open up some really powerful stuff when they do

I'm not even talking features, I'm just waiting for kernel level functions and I'll start bringing the features.

long ago i created this feature for non linear transform, since that moment a lot of improvements to fs standard library was made, so now it could probably be made more accurate and faster
