Cutting teeth into non gear object

I am working on modeling a plastic part that is wearing out that we cannot get a replacement for so I can 3d print a new one. I have most of it done, but i need to cut teeth into the inside of a lip from an extrusion and cannot figure out how to do this. I would think the easiest way would be to select the outside face of the extrusion, model the tooth pattern and duplicate it around the face, then do a remove extrude on the plane toward the center of the object. Including some reference pictures of the object so you can see what I am trying to describe. I am new to Onshape so I am sure I am just doing it wrong or designed the model wrong from the start.
